Mining Media International (MMI) through The ASIA Miner magazine and weekly e-news service is proud to present a Regional Technical Conference at Mining Vietnam 2014 in Hanoi. The conference is on important part of the second Mining Vietnam event, which will be held at the International Centre for Exhibition, Cultural Palace from March 11-13.

The conference is made possible through the collaboration with and support from Allworld Exhibitions, and the support of Platinum Sponsor Weir Minerals along with Lanyard and Name Badge Sponsor NSK Vietnam. MMI is also grateful for the encouragement and support received from the Austrade office in Vietnam.

The Regional Technical Conference will showcase some of the industry leaders and technical innovations from Australia that may be beneficial to the mining industry in Vietnam and in other South East Asian nations. The one-day conference on March 11, day one of Mining Vietnam, will be a taste of the Australian innovations available now to support the mining industry.

Austrade says that Australia has established itself not only as a leading energy and commodities supplier but also a provider of advanced mining equipment, technology and services. Over the years Australia has developed and perfected the technologies and expertise needed to cope with some of the world's most remote and harshest mining conditions. It has done so whilst also ensuring mine operations remain productive, possess high environmental standards and contribute to economic sustainable development.

It says Australian solutions are competitive across the complete mining supply chair, including exploration, mine development, engineering, minerals processing, environmental management, mine safety, research and development, education and training, and community engagement. This is why 60% of the world’s mines use technology developed in Australia and many of Vietnam’s mining sites are already successfully operating Australian mining equipment, technology and services.

Speakers at the Regional Technical Conference include representatives from the Australian Trade Commission and VINACOMIN, Weir Minerals’ Wayne Trench, Pak Kuen Chan, Dr Craig Walker, David Walters and Mark Palmer, Outotec’s Andre de Jong and Sherwin Morgan, pbENCOM’s Dan Haigh and AIR CTI’s Chet Cline. The one-day conference will be moderated by Oliver Massman, Partner, Duane Morris Vietnam LLC, who will also give an overview on transacting business in Vietnam.

There will be 14 Australian companies participating in Mining Vietnam from March 11-13 with 11 of them exhibiting in the Australian National Pavilion and several also participating in the Regional Technical Conference.
