The ASIA Miner is organising a Regional Technical Conference during Mining Vietnam 2016 next month. Sponsored by Weir Minerals and co-hosted and supported by Austrade Vietnam, the conference will be held on March 29 from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

The theme of the conference is ‘Making mining safer in Vietnam’ and it will feature presentations highlighting the technical innovations that will make safer the process of mining throughout Vietnam and South East Asia.

Mining Vietnam will be held at the International Centre for Exhibition, Cultural Palace, Hanoi from March 29 to 31 with the technical conference on the first day and in the same location.

The issue of safety is vital considering the background of industry, political and economic change taking place in Vietnam and throughout the region. The speakers are highly notable within the global mining industry as well as in their various fields of expertise.

They include Austrade’s Vietnam Trade Commissioner Janelle Casey, Asian Mineral Resources corporate affairs spokesperson Anh Trang Ngoc, Weir Minerals product specialist rubber Michael Friedrich, Weir Minerals territory manager Asia Tino Morassut, Hunternet project director Wayne Diemar, Outotec South East Asia technical solutions manager Sherwin Morgan, and TRIO general manager Asia Pacific Stuart Borg. There will also be a speaker representing the Vietnamese government.

The conference, which is the second to be organised by The ASIA Miner during the biennial Mining Vietnam event, will also provide an opportunity for mining companies, predominantly from Australia, to network with and discuss business with the Vietnamese mining community. It represents a once in every two years not-to-be-missed opportunity.
