Follow up scout drilling by Asiamet Resources at the BKZ prospect in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, has intersected further near-surface high-grade base and precious metal rich mineralisation along strike of earlier hits. The results provide confidence that BKZ may be a standalone polymetallic deposit, although further drilling is required to determine the ultimate dimensions and continuity of the mineralised body.
BKZ is about 800 metres north of Asiamet’s feasibility stage BKM Copper Project and both are within the KSK Contract of Work (COW) area. Being the most accessible, BKZ is the first of multiple targets outside BKM being tested in the wider BK district.
To date, six holes, for 592.7metres, that have been drilled to test a zone of massive sulphide outcrops over an area of 150 x 100 metres have intersected polymetallic mineralisation, however assay results are only yet available for two holes.
Highlights are: 3.2 metres from 1.8 metres @ 1.15 g/t gold and 67.8 g/t silver, and 7.0 metres from 5.0 metres @ 3.7% zinc, 1.3% lead, 46 g/t silver, 0.24 g/t gold and 1.0% copper in one hole; and 39 metres from 41 metres in the other hole @ 7.3% zinc, 2.3% lead, 33 g/t silver and 0.33 g/t gold, including 23 metres from 41 metres @ 11.1% zinc, 3.8% lead, 50 g/t silver and 0.42 g/t gold.
The BKZ scout drilling program is focused on expanding the zinc-lead-silver-gold mineralisation intersected in three historical drill holes.
The mineralisation remains open in all directions and at depth, and drilling to date indicates the mineralisation is increasing in grade to the east.
The focus of the ongoing program is to expand the massive and semi-massive sulphides by completing step-out drilling to the north, south and east.
