At Peak Klyuchi, Orsu discovered and traced new gold-mineralised zones over a 400-meter strike length in drill holes and trenches, with drillhole SDH19-88A intercepting 1.71 grams per ton (g/t) Au and 16.12 g/t Ag over 6.1 meters and 0.68 g/t Au and 5.77 g/t Ag over 6.5 meters.
Dr Alexander Yakubchuk, Director of Exploration at Orsu said the new gold-mineralised intercepts in drill hole SDH19-88A at Peak Klyuchi demonstrated a significant upside potential of the Sergeevskoe gold project, including higher silver grades, outside the maiden resource envelope.
“The newly discovered mineralisation is part of northwest-trending Peak Klyuchi domain, which was only partially intercepted by Orsu in 2017 in trench STRKZ17-11 and two drill holes SDH17-11 and SDH17-12,” said Dr Yakubchuk.
“Overall, this mineralisation occurs on strike from the Intermediate domain, some 1350 metres from the eastern boundary of the Sergeevkoe license.”
Dr Sergey Kurzin, the Executive Chairman, confirmed that discovery of the new mineralised zones around Peak Klyuchi domain will extend the mineralised footprint of the deposit by another 400 meters northwest of Kozie occurrence.
“This discovery provides a testimony to a potential of the system and our ability to grow it,” said Dr Kurzin.
“The purpose of Stage 1 of the 2019 exploration program was to specifically understand where to drill to increase the size of the mineralisation. While we have not yet finished Stage 1, we now have a good idea how to achieve this goal in Stage 2 of the 2019 program to commence later this year.”
Orsu continues its previously announced 3500 metre drilling and 3000 metre trenching programme at Sergeevskoe. In 2019, the Company focused its activity at Peak Klyuchi, Zone 23, deep parts of Intermediate and Kozie domains.
