The fourth Djakarta Mining Club (DMC) networking event was held on November 7 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Jakarta. The event attracted 120 registrations, including professionals, senior management, newcomers and investors in the mining industries.

Djakarta Mining Club serves to foster bilateral business relationships while promoting sustainable mineral production through educational outreach, promotion of exploration and planned dialogue between stakeholders.

The guest speaker for the November 7 event was PT AEL Indonesia’s country manager Sean Rodger who presented a thought provoking 40 minute paper titled ‘Wealth Unearthed’ which discussed how to determine and implement the most appropriate business model to manage and reduce total mining costs via supplier performance.

He showed how this can be achieved through value adding initiatives, both within and beyond a project. He also demonstrated how to deliver productivity/efficiency optimization and lowest cost quartile production for mining projects.

The objectives of the DMC events are to provide a convivial networking organization for companies, institutions and professionals in Indonesia’s mining industry; communicate and facilitate mining sector investment and business opportunities in Indonesia; and also to enhance business relationships and foster friendship between companies in the mining industry.
