Metso Outotec has announced an expansion to its filter assembly plant in Suzhou, China, citing a rise in global market demand.

MetsoThe project will double its local filter capacity for both mining and industrial customers, as well as provide additional space for flotation drive mechanism and mill reline equipment assemblies.

The facility is expected to open within a year, reaching full capacity by the first half of next year. The company will add to its payroll to support the expansion.

Tero Tiainen, director, Filter Manufacturing, pointed out that filter assembly first began in Suzhou in 2009. It now produces several types for global customers.
